Aldi Eyes Expansion Into Little Rock

Published reports say the discount grocer will soon open its first store in the Arkansas capital following the purchase of a former Bed Bath & Beyond location.

Shoppers in Little Rock, Ark. will soon have a new choice for their grocery needs at Aldi has purchased a former Bed Bath and Beyond store.

According to a report by NBC affiliate KARK, purchase of the 37,813 square foot store that was previously home to the now bankrupt home specialty store was confirmed by A&G Real Estate Partners. Other published reports indicated the sale price was $132,000.

The store at 12309 Chenal Parkway is in the western portion of the Arkansas capital in an area flush with retail that includes a Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Kroger and Trader Joe’s among others. 

A grand opening date has yet to be revealed. Currently, Aldi has 11 stores across Arkansas, with most located in the northern and western portions of the state. In total, the discount grocer operates 2,292 stores in 39 states, according to its website.
