A new company has launched, offering private label pet food formulas in small batches and with natural ingredients. Pet Wants, based in Woodbury, Minn., was launched by two longtime friends who have been running a pet food delivery business in areas around Minnesota.

Pet Wants will make pet foods with fresh, natural ingredients that are enhanced by vitamins and minerals to give dogs and cats a fully balanced diet, the company said. In addition to dog and cat foods, the company offers a heating salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more for private label pet products.

Jennine Lundquist and Charles Mosier both worked corporate careers before teaming up on various entrepreneurial efforts over the last few years.

“We worked in healthcare for many years and we both understand the positive impact of fresh, quality food, but while there are plenty of options available for humans, it’s harder to find fresh, quality food for pets,” Mosier said. “Pet Wants allows us to include our pets in the conversation about eating healthier and more holistically.”

Pet Wants provides a money-back guarantee if the food isn’t fresh, including the salmon, chicken and lamb they source. The products use no sugars, fillers or animal by-products, per the company, which also forgoes corn, wheat, soy or dyes.

“We are passionate about sharing the Pet Wants mission of providing the freshest, most nutritious pet food available compared to pre-packaged brands,” Lundquist said. The company can be reached via its Pet Wants Woodbury delivery service.
