Sprouts Farmers Markets receive award for sustainability initiatives

Sprouts Farmers Markets have been awarded Manomet’s Grocery Stewardship Certification (GSC).

Six Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Markets have been awarded Manomet’s Grocery Stewardship Certification (GSC), bringing the total number of Sprouts stores in the GSC to 90.

All Florida grocery store locations, the certification for the Florida stores is the latest sustainability milestone for Sprouts, one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country.. 

“Sprouts Farmers Market takes sustainability seriously,” said Peter Cooke, director of Retail Sustainability for Manomet. “Sprouts believes in being a good neighbor in the communities they serve. By reducing their impact on the planet and operating more efficiently they are showing that they value both their employees and their customers. We look forward to continue working with them!”

The GSC recognizes Sprouts’ commitment to operational best practices that reduce a store’s environmental impact, reduce operating costs, and save resources, according to Store Brands' sister publication Progressive Grocer. The certification for the Florida stores is the latest sustainability milestone for Sprouts, one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country.
