Columbia Grain International (CGI), a producer of grains, beans and pulses, has launched its Retail Products Group and expanded its capacity to produce private label products.

The company, which attended PLMA’s 2022 Trade Show, is headquartered in Portland, Ore., and grows its products throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota. Showcasing a number of its items at the Chicago trade show, CGI is looking to expand its relationship with retailers with the launch of the Retail Products Group.

“Being vertically integrated from seed to package helps us to provide a better bean to pack under store brands,” said CGI Manager of Retail Products Bill Germano. “And our new centrally-located custom packaging facility in Hastings, Neb., gives us efficiencies and a predictable supply chain to share with our retail partners.”

Products on display at CGI’s booth at PLMA 2022 included black beans, kidney beans, navy beans, lentils and more. CGI can produce products with certifications such as organic, non-GMO and Kosher.

“Our legacy as a leading international ingredients supplier gives us expertise and scale to provide complete product programs,” said Germano. “We look forward to help expand this fundamental and nutritional food source to even more consumers and for the expanded benefit of our retail partners."
