Fresh-Lock, a brand focused on press-to-close zipper and track and slider re-closable packaging, will soon debut its newest product additions available for private label manufacturers and retailers.

The lineup will be unveiled at Pack Expo 2021, held in Las Vegas from Sep. 27-29, including the brand’s first compostable closure among other new products — the latest in the company’s steps towards sustainability.

The brand’s first compostable closure in the 8000 series is the Fresh-Lock zipper style 8015. The zipper is made with 100% certified compostable resins, and is FDA approved for food-use applications. Fresh-Lock says the closure is ideal for dry products like herbs, leaves, and spices. Fresh-Lock senior manager Todd Meussling will be presenting at the event and speaking about the compostable packaging.

Another new product that will be unveiled at the expo is the Fresh-Lock zipper style 8425. The 10mm closure was designed to meet challenges associated with mono-layer recyclable films, ink splitting associated with digital inks, and dry, flowable product applications. The company says it is perfect for granular and powdered goods, snacks, pet, and lawn care products in small to medium-sized pouches.

The two new products join the additional highlights from the 8000 series, including the Fresh-Lock Zipper Top, the Fresh-Lock Child-Resistant zipper, and Fresh-Lock Triple-Lock zippers. These products are marketed as offering recyclability and enhanced package re-closability ideal for the meat, pharmaceutical, lawn and garden, and pet industries.
