Mosaic Foods, a producer of healthy frozen foods in Brooklyn, N.Y., has introduced plant-centric oat bowls in six flavors. The company is open to developing under a retailer’s private brand lines, per the company.

The oat bowls are ready to heat for breakfast, lunch or snacking and are packed with 10 grams of protein, leveraging steel cut oats and quinoa, with many layers of texture and color in the bowls. The bowls are frozen to preserve freshness and are easy to prepare with no additives required.

The flavors include Golden Milk & Blackberry, Peanut Butter, Banana & Cacao, and Shiitake Ginger.

Mosaic Foods was founded by two friends Matt Davis and Sam McIntire just a year ago and the company’s line of frozen bowls has doubled this year, including this latest line of oat bowls. In total, the company produces more than 30 healthy bowls.

Other recent bowls focus on a plant-based diet offering more than 10 vegan and dairy-free bowls. Their current line-up of meals includes veggie-packed risottos, noodles and curries, and more, with bestsellers including Ginger Sesame Noodles, Chipotle Mango Burrito Bowl and Yellow Dal Curry. Chef Malanga recently introduced three new meals: Jerk Lentils and Plantain, Coconut Chickpea Curry and Creamy Pesto Cavatappi.

The foods are available online at Mosaicfoods.com, and while private label isn't their primary business, the company is open to partnering with retailers for private brands. The company said it aims to modernize the $53 billion frozen foods industry with its healthy food bowls.
